This is my first post for the current academic year. After a long holiday, it is a bit tough to sit and concentrate…where I was and how I want to continue. Understandably, the first month of the term for anyone working in Further/Higher education is quite hectic.
During the summer I kept an eye on 23 things for professional development (also known as learning 2.0) with too many distractions. So, after a short holiday - I started to look back the things one by one again. For those which the course is new, it is an online self-discovery learning programme used to introduce library staff to new library technologies, mainly social media. It is achieved via a reflective blog. I find it useful and although I didn’t create my blog just for this purpose, these 23 things inspire me to do blogging.
Some of the outcomes are my blog, exploring and communicating with other blogs, using smartphone, twitting, RSS feeds, reading more about reflective thinking and writing, using more online social networking sites like Facebook, CILIP communities and so on, playing with different tools which some of them are not relevant to my job, knowing more about LIS organizations, etc.
I enjoyed and was inspired by this summer course, but my main focus would be on Personal Professional Development Plan (PPDP).
